Hello i am looking for events that our volunteers can help communities.
Unfortunately, our tour program has been rather stop-start given the pandemic restrictions and lockdowns etc. That said, we aim to have a KIN member lead each visit to a place of worship - generally with about 15-20 participants - and the host faith community then conducts the tour. There probably isn't a great deal for a volunteer to do. What organisation do your volunteers come from? KIN is also making preparations for a Council-supported Indigenous Spirituality Day, although this, too, has been impacted by COVID. Our preliminary thinking is that a number of activities - a presentation, a meditation, a children's activity, a dance/music performance - could be timetabled, so some volunteer assistance here might be useful. We have been trying to connect with the local (to Knox) Indigenous group, but lockdown has also delayed this. We have asked Council for an extension of time to complete this project, so it may not take place until 2022.
